Dear Amy,
Thank you so much for that book. It is beautiful beyond description. The time, the energy, the dedication, the compassion, the fortitude, the love, all that it took to create that memorable event and to record it in words and pictures. Your photographs are excellent. I could almost feel myself on the road. What a wonderful memorial for the families of those lost firefighters. Thank you for sharing that experience with me and so many others through that book.

Amy and Al,
Got the book the other day….AWESOME!  Nice job!

I read the book cover to cover in about 2 hours. You are a saint. The fire service is better today because of you! Thank you so much for the section on Mendota, also the pictures preceding week 5 include our Fire Chief’s kids and the businessmen from Mendota that road from Moline to Mendota. Of course,
THE PICTURE!

By the way, I had an opportunity to read your book during my layover last night and it is PHENOMENAL! I am so proud of you for following through and making it happen. Plus it’s just cool actually KNOWING an author! I have a feeling your book is going to affect more lives than you probably ever imagined!

Your “Journey” arrived on Saturday and thanks so much for the timing. A couple of dear friends from Littleton, Colorado just happened to be here at the time and they were quite taken with the photographs you took in that beautiful state.
The preface you wrote was wonderful, especially the sentence “Our firefighters were like a needle and thread, uniting people together. “
